In this task I was required to create photographs of brutalism with focus on line and perspective, line and pattern and negative space. This task links to the theme of brutalism as I visited two brutalist buildings: Alexandra Road Park and Whittington Estate. I attempted to compose my images in a way which captured the simple yet captivating shapes and structures which produced light and shadow. I also focused my attention to how the concrete created patterns and designs.

For my response, as I was limited to a small sheet of card, I photographed my subjects closer while still capturing the wildlife in its natural environment. With the white card in the background it allows the plants structure to be seen clearly without being overshadowed by other things in the background of the photograph and smaller details can be seen, such as Myoung Ho Lees work.
